NMR Scientist (8-10 years in CRO/API)

Qualifications: MSc, M Pharmacy, PhD (Organic, Analytical)

Job description

For Research Associate 

  • 1-2 years of experience in handling HPLC/LC-MS/Prep HPLC/SFC/NMR.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of LC-MS/HPLC Method Development for NCE Molecules in analytical scale.
  • Expertise in different types of purification techniques.
  • Hands on experience of instruments in operation of different make.
  • sound knowledge of different column chemistry used in HPLC.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting of instruments and their calibration.
  • Ready to work within a team of motivated young scientists.
  • Should be ready to work in different shifts (including night shift) to support the Analytical team in delivering the analytical data to the Chemistry team

For Senior Research Scientist (NMR)

  • Have sound knowledge of various NMR analysis’ experiment set-ups and having experience of 8-10 years handling NMR.
  • Understanding the project requirements from collaborators & key stakeholders.
  • Responsible for smoother operation of NMR instruments, shift planning and execution to achieve benchmark productivity month on month basis.
  • Responsible for planning, prioritizing and executing work responsibilities in order to meet deadlines.
  • Proactively identifying bottlenecks & communicating viable solutions along with insights to collaborators.
  • Should have expertise in handling characterization of organic compounds with advanced NMR techniques like NOESY, COSY, HSQC, HMBC etc. & Q-NMR methods for quantification of trace impurities in samples.
  • Sound knowledge of characterization of NCE molecules with various techniques like LCMS, XRD, TGA, DSC etc.
  • Responsible for NMR troubleshooting and calibration, coordinating with vendors/technicians.
  • Responsible for making sure all the compliances related to NMR are being followed.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of LC-MS/SFC/HPLC Method Development for NCE Molecules.
  • Ready to work within a team & lead a team of motivated young scientists.
  • Responsible for training, coaching and mentoring team.

Research and Senior Research Associate – Synthesis R&D

Job description

  • Responsible to perform routine organic synthesis. (mg to gram scale) & work independently under the guidance of the leader.
  • Independently support the scientific team with instrumentation and equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Able to understand & interpret various instruments like NMR, Mass, HPLC.
    Instrument purification like Combiflash, big columns, column packing. Deciding the mobile phase for purification.
  • Independently handling all types of glassware assembly arrangement, reaction reagent charging, maintaining temperature, nitrogen, etc.
  • Should be able to understand the written instruction from the scientist including patents and reprints where procedure highlighted by scientists.
  • To train and support the team members.
  • Meticulous Documentation & proper data management.
  • To maintain the record book of the work done like purification or reaction.

Job requirements

  • Minimum of 2 year to 4 years of experience working in CRO Industry.
  • Strong organizational, project management and problem-solving skills with impeccable multi-tasking abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to write reports and prepare spreadsheets and presentations.

  • Expertise for chemistry related to synthesis of small molecule heterocycles, multi-step and complex molecules, focused libraries, chiral molecules, peptides and sugars
  • Previous experience for drug design and SAR generation on relevant drug targets will be an added advantage
  • Fluent verbal and written English communication skills with an ability to describe and discuss scientific issues or case studies
  • Good interpersonal skills
